It’s that day again,
Of St. Valentine,
That day we show our love and appreciation...

But this isn’t one of those poems,
Where I say how much I want you,
I won’t tell you your eyes are beautiful,
‘Cuz’ that’s just not what I do,
I won’t tell you about the chills I get,
Each time you cross my sight.

I won’t by you flowers, or chocolates,
Or even that pretty white bear,
I won’t give you that big basket,
Nothing to make them stop and stare.

These material things can hold your eyes,
And fill your hands,
And even satisfy that sweet tooth,
The beautiful words can even ease the mind,
But would you really want em,
If they’re not for real, or true?


But I guarantee that’s not me,
This Valentine’s Day,
What I say is true,
And sincerely is for you.

I said I wouldn’t say this,
But my God I can’t resist,
I guess you talked me into it,
I guess caught that spirit.

Truth is I’ve been holding back on this,
Though I’ve really wanted to say it.

From the moment I lay eyes on you,
I knew if liked you it was true.

Since the instant I got to know you,
I knew I could love you.

But girl don’t you worry,
Because that’s really not what I am saying,
What I’m saying is you’re beautiful,
And you’re a wonderful friend.

It’s true that I admire you,
Mind, body and all,
Hair, Eyes, Skin, Style,
And the package about five feet tall .

Truth is if I were your Valentine,
I would say all I said I wouldn’t,
Shower you with all those gifts,
Though before I said I shouldn’t.

Since I can’t be your Valentine,
I’ll settle for you friendship,
Something I want to grow,
I’ll hope nothing comes to end it.

Oh, by the way,
There’s one more thing you have to know,
Even though I don’t let is show,
I think your beautiful, intelligent,
Just one really cool girl,
But I gotta ask just one favour,
